Thai bodywork and Reiki go perfectly together as both are designed to to free the body from energy blockages with one using pressure and stretching and the other using a high vibration of healing energy.
Looking at each technique more specifically, Thai bodywork combines assisted stretching, soft tissue massage and rhythmic palming/thumbing over the body’s energy lines and acupressure points to help release tension, increase circulation and move blocked energy through the body. Thai massage is performed on a mat on the floor with the person fully dressed in comfortable clothes suitable for stretching.
Reiki relieves stress and tension through natural energetic healing. Reiki is a Japanese healing modality to help move blocked or stagnant energy out of the body. During a Reiki session, the energy flows from the Practitioners hands into the person to send positive energy and to assist in removing negative energy stored in the body.
Thai-Reiki combines both Thai bodywork and Reiki in one restorative session. Think of it as a guided stretching and meditation in one. Clients who experienced a Thai Reiki bodywork session report an elevation in mood and physicality. We recommend one first session lasting 90 minutes, and weekly treatments thereafter for two months at 60 minutes. These treatments have shown great success with depression, anxiety, migraines, and other mental and physical issues. Basically, you get all the benefits of a Reiki session and a Thai Massage, the combination of which creates an amazingly effective, and lasting, healing experience.
To prepare for your sessions with Temple, you will want to avoid large meals for 2 hours prior to your appointment. During the session, little or no effort is needed from you. You just lay on the mat and let Temple do the work. You may feel a little dizzy afterward, so try to avoid scheduling anything directly after the session.
